Dream Of A First Kiss - Poem by Ula Goss

He edged closer stopping time
Each second an eternity
His breath, warm silk
Blessing, innocent skin

Drowning, dying, awakening
His lips parted as the earth
Quaking, ripping breath
From soil, unplowed

Eyes sheltered, to the violent scene
Of two souls at the mercy of love
Sweetly, urged the gods
To bless a stubborn heart
With trespass of an arrow
