End This Silence - Poem by Orlando Belo
I would like to think that you could,
give me some kind of explanation.
To why you are behaving this way,
and creating this hurtful situation.
Is it because I have done something wrong,
or hurt you in some kind of way?
Or is because you just don’t love me anymore,
and you are troubled by what to say?
Has the fire gone out in our relationship?
Has the flame been extinguished by the years?
You have a hard, coldness, in your expressions,
but I have never seen any sadness or tears.
Whatever is weighing heavy on your mind.
it would be far better that you let it free.
We cannot possibly go on like this forever,
you are making both of us extremely unhappy.
I am not a mind reader, and I am feeling helpless,
confused, at a loss, and frustrated.
It is time to let your feelings known to me,
tell it how it is, and become liberated.
If you cannot bring yourself to tell me,
I will have to assume the worse,
and as such, I will cut my cloth accordingly,
in response to your total lack of words.
I do not really like taking this kind of action,
but you leave me very little choice.
A division of assets is the next step forward,
so please end this silence, and use your voice.
