Fool's Gold - Poem by Victoria x Cain x

You've left me alone.

It was so easy too,
I saw it in your eyes.
'Cuz I was just a shiny bauble
Hanging from your tree.

No heartbreak for you
Or the torture of silence.
Looking through the window at a golden glow
And freezing in the cold.

I was just another toy
That youth left long behind.

Off this bus now
I have no place to hide.
In a world where you are the sun
And your eyes the stars above.
My heartbeat still echoes
To the rhythm of yout tide,
And glows in the warmth of your sunrise.

Like a fool I'm still hanging on
Even though your love for me
Died before it was born.

Like a fool I would rather live a lie
Than live my life without you.
Like a fool I would cry out as you crush me to the ground
And stand to hold you in my arms again...

Enjoyed your poem very much, as I know exactly how you feel. I too am a fool willing to give it all for a man's affection. Great write...sph (Report)Reply
