Get Over You - Poem by Stephen Mountain
I always knew the day would come,
I had pictured it before.
I thought I would beg and plead,
not just let you walk out my door.
I cannot believe it is over,
I thought as I laid on my bed showing no emotion.
I was shocked, alone and speechless,
wishing I could make you love me again by giving you some potion.
I cannot describe the pain I was in,
word's cannot explain.
8 months have gone by now,
and I am still feeling the strain.
I always knew it would take time,
to get over you.
But I thought it would be easier,
yet I don't know what to do.
You meant everything to me,
you were my life.
Nothing else mattered when I was around you,
I wished you was my wife.
I have got to look to the future now,
I have got to move on.
I hope I can be happy again,
but i'm doubtful now that you have gone.
I will love you forever,
even if I don't want to.
I just want to move on now,
and finally get over you.
