Golden Friendship Gone - Poem by Mariya Shostak

When I met you
Nothing special happened
You lived close by
And welcomed me

You saw me come
I watched you go
But when you left
You left a hole

You had welcomed me
Become my friend
So close, so true
My friend so good

We'd laugh together
And cry too
Nothing could divide us
Nothing was that strong

We were little
We shared our toys
We were teens
We shared our troubles and joys

We grew up
Still best friends
Then you fell in love
And left with him

Now you're gone
We're still best friends
Email, text, call, mail
We keep in touch

But I miss you
You've gone away
We'll visit I know
But I miss you.

Good friendship is difficult to build, a good friend is almost the equal to family. A good poem you've got here. Keep it up and thanks for sharing. Please have a look at my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
