Payment for pleasure
Light lands on head like hammers
Belly mutinies
Aching brain makes promises
Never again lasts one night

    Weak is the flesh,
    But the glass is weaker,
    Drinks do refresh,
    The oblivion seeker.

Kelly, how well you know us all!

I thought it might be a recognizable situation. Thanks, Sandra.

    Some hair of the dog
    And a quick prayer before
    The porcelain god
    Who accepts all offerings
    But jiggle the handle, please.

Thank *my imaginary friend* I don't get much of a hangover when I get drunk, until I am going for multiple different drinks.. And damn my liver that I had pushed to be sober for six months.. Miss those days of drunken senselessness... A very nice tanka Kelly.. Thank you.. (Report) Reply

Not as often as I would like, but Pushing consciousness to new places enlightens.
