How Could You - Poem by Jennifer Weit

you put your hands on me when i gave you my trust
to leave you i cant i'm to scared but i must
you hit me and push me with all your might
why o why would you when i cant fight
you think your a man cuz you push me around
i want to so bad but i cant make a sound
you say if i struggle you'll make it hurt more
you sit there and laugh when i hit the floor
you put a knife to my throat and say you'll kill me
i'm getting stronger but you just dont see
when we next meat i have a surprise
i tell you i'm done and you look into my eyes
you raise your hand ready to strike
i told you i'm stronger i'm ready to fight
u swing and miss its my turn now
like you did to me i put you on the ground
as you lie there i come at you ready to go
but i stop and think i just dont know
i want to hurt you to make you see
all the messed up stuff you did to me
i turn to leave and as i do
i tell you again i'm not like you
hit me again and i'll show you what i can do
next time there will be nothing left of you
