How Do You Know? - Poem by Cally A. Nixon

How do you know,
when to add and subtract...
To move forward,
and never look back?

How do you know,
if today is your last day...
To let out all the words,
you couldn't say?

How do you know,
when to say good bye...
To ask the question,
why?

How do you know,
when one you love will leave...
To be down on your knees,
begging them please?

How do you know,
when and who to love?
To finally give,
your modesty a shove?

How do you know,
when to let go...
To wonder if,
you will ever know?
