I Can'T Love You - Poem by Betty Ashe

Time to walk away now
I’ve come to my end
My heart is breaking
And I’m losing a friend

I knew this would happen
Though not quite this soon
The fatal mistake was
Falling for you

I’m not going to call you
Or walk by your home
I won’t seek any comfort
I can do this alone

I’ll not hear you laughing
See the tears in your eyes
Nor comfort your hurting
I’m cutting all ties

You will never know angel
How I’m dying inside
I’ll turn and I’ll leave
And take with me my pride

Every second was precious
Each moment a gift
You’ve given me hope
I thank you for this

Though the mood is depressing, this poem is a nice follow up to the other one. (Report) Reply
