Mia de Guzman

Kleio (Clio - History) - Poem by Mia de Guzman

Taste the rust
straight from Clio's lips.
Feel the rush
of thoughts that run
round her foggy mind -
mind soiled by ends
and meets
and their corruptness.
She sings songs with no words.
Hear her voice
as she howls,
as she wails,
as she forever laments
the regrets
tattooed on her parchment-skin;
Ink from the many tiny deaths
that lingered
on her skeletal skin -
Red of the humble and brave,
Black of the blinded 'powerfools'.
Marvel at the sight
of her finally losing her mind.
