Languid Day - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Daylight’s fleeting November sovereignty
Truncated by thick cloud cover
Leaves listless my Tuesday morning
Curtains open, but more light pours out than in
A steady rainfall pacifies, drowses
By late afternoon sunset, no diurnal light
Circadian rhythm in disarray
Languid day

I get it Kurt... no need to be touchy about definitions... I get it; November does that to me too. Thanks. (Report) Reply

There is justification in title of the poem. So nicely presented. Great. (Report) Reply

What you do best, poetically paint with words. That reach the eye and then the heart.
    Exquisite work!

diurnal.. appearing during the day rather than at night
circadian (rhythm) 24 hr cycle that tells the body when to
sleep. Now I know. Keeping you humble (although I kinda liked it)
gonna belt your average down with an 8

A poet's microscopic view of a day, he calls it a languid day, simply wonderful.

When daylight hours are abbreviated, darkness during day makes night dominant. It affects me

A sunless day tells upon our moods! It is so natural that one grows languid on such days! If there is rain, it makes matters even worse! It is surprising to notice how the weather affects our moods! (Report) Reply

Apparently, for me, almost each day and me myself is too 'languid' and lazy.. Hard sometimed it is to make the time move... Thanks Kelly.. A fine poem.. (Report) Reply

It is strange, how powerful the weather and daylight can be on us
