Little Girls - Poem by Lynzi Berner

When other little girls
were playing with dolls
and dreaming
of their prince charmings

I would sit in a corner
and dream
not of a man
that could sweep me off my feet

But of a love
so strong
that all of time lays down for
a soul
twin to my own
embodied in the man
who searches for me

Why long for things if they are not meant for us?
A dream
that was born in a young girls heart
then died
on the slamming dorr
that was him
only to be reborn in her soul
