Memory In Flames - Poem by Lynzi Berner

This pain has
overtaken me

I loved you so much
that I broke in two
so as to love you more

You picked me up
from the shadows
of my dreams

You lifted me
to help me fly
but you let go
before I was ready
and I fell

I laid there
bleeding
crying
waiting
but your hand never reached out
to help me up

So I crawled
I fought against
the tears
the pain
the emptyness

Now I'm standing
on the edge
of my reality

I have gathered your memories

I smile
one tear falls
I strike the match
I whisper
I will love you forever
I dropp the match
and sigh
as your memory
goes up in flames
