My Tongue - Poem by Richie John Pais

I know my tongue was strong
My father in childhood taught me
That I should always tell the truth
My tongue became stronger over the years
I would tell what I felt was right
And what was wrong
As I felt
When I met you by chance
After losing many
Someone told me
To hold my tongue
For I might lose you too
But you liked me a lot
For being too honest
You kissed my tongue
That taught you to be honest too
But you slipped your tongue once
I said you are liar
You stopped liking my tongue
My lips
My words
My teeth
And me totally
I hate my tongue now
