New York Serenade - Poem by Khembottra Oum
This city has my thoughts,
but you honey, you have my heart.
When I'm drunk, wasted out of my mind,
You are the one that brings me back.
I spent this time searching...
searching for me, searching for you.
Millions of faces pass me by,
but yours is tattooed on my mind.
These lights look the same from the ground,
Everything is more beautiful - with you.
True love tears down the lies,
and yours honey, have broken mines.
I wanted to stay asleep as long as possible
But because of you, I was born again.
You make want to become a better man.
Your head on my shoulder is all I want.
These eyes have seen its share of pain,
but you chose to stay... and heal me.
I never moved the hands on the clock,
Time stood still when I fell in love with you.
