No New Friends - Poem by Triauna Hall

I have this distant feeling…from everyone around
Just want to leave alone, and maybe skip a few towns
Feeling lonely is often too much for me to handle
Too many emotions involved, not wanting to be apart of this scandal
I don’t want to speak, I barely want to listen
The only talking are my thoughts of reminiscence
Too scared to trust, too guarded to let loose
Giving benefits of the doubts only to be used
Always wanting to be alone, away from the ones I do trust
Not trusting my voice, the wheels in my head turning to rust
Feeling drowsy and tired but I am fully awake
To think of who I really knew, was an honest mistake
Not playing any games, I’m serious in this situation
They say make new ones, I tell them I’m on a vacation
