No Stranger - Poem by Alice Parris

I am
No stranger
To this
That has me
Sitting on
The ground
Thinking that
I am in a
Western movie.
Blood drips
Out of the mouths
Of Gringos
Who spit
At intervals;
Leaving me
To wonder
About this
That covers me.
