One True Love - Poem by Jana Courville

he lay breathless in his bed
his tattered soul
crying out for help
his one true love
has died away,
and now, he has nothing but pray that
the memories will leave him some day,
as he lay broken in his bed
his tears all shed
nothing left to cry
he ponders his life,
and hopes to die
his once true love
now dead to life,
that one true love
is still his whole life
