Overkill (Limerick) - Poem by Kelly Kurt

To wade through the volume is so hard
But when the list is jam packed with lard
It gets quite frustrating
with little worth rating
Like counting each grass shoot in the yard

Topic(s) of this poem: poetry, selfish , ego , life

Form: Limerick

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I review dozens of poems each day. It is hard enough to select which ones I can give my attention and to find new voices and give due praise. But at times, a single author will upload a dozen, and sometimes several dozen at a time. This does me, the community and themselves a disservice.

Thanks Kelly.. This sums it up perfectly.. Next time around when I will write a limerick, I'd go for (9 9 6 6 9) shots of vodkas.. If I come out alive.. There shall be a limerrick: p

Yes, too many at a stretch makes reading as difficult as counting each grass shoot in the yard! Interesting! (Report) Reply

With all the ads that slow pages from loading (And having a slow computer too) It is impractical if not impossible to read the large number

Wallowing through the mire in order to give praise and encouragement is appreciated by those of us fortunate enough to be the recipient of your observations. The unselfish effort on your part has immeasurable positive returns. (Report) Reply

Thank you, Edmund. I really do want to encourage poets

I mean no disrespect. It is simply not practical for anyone to read all 30 of a poets works in one session. And it makes it dificult and time consuming to wade through multiple posts to find works by poets I try not to miss (Report) Reply

When I first joined, I would sometimes post 5 or more at once. Usually only one or two would get reviewed. But now I only post, at most,2 each day and separate them by 12 hours or so, and they both get at least one review

I agree with you Kelly.. It's better to upload a poem and give it some time to be appreciated and receive valuable critiques from the fellow members.. It allows all of us something to learn.. Unfortunately, some people here, who somehow actually call themselves, poets keep uploading a bunch of 'poems' so badly that I often miss out on when the poets I like are uploading their poems.. Unfortunate thing..
