Persistent Poet - Poem by Tex T Sarnie
My first attempts at writing
were definitely feeble and crap,
but I stuck at it, and kept on going
despite the critics on my back.
I’ve become a poet of all seasons,
and I’ve blossomed through the years.
My poetry raises many comments,
and even brings critical tears.
Not because they’re good or emotional,
or poignant, or written with skill.
It’s because I’m a sucker for punishment,
and my persistence makes most people ill.
