Position: At Vanguard - Poem by Shailika Reeves
A turn to the left, and
A turn to the right
You see a lot of bayonets standing upright.
You turn to the sky,
But none to fly,
Just dust and smoke
Like a carpet, flies.
You look for the earth
And theres no dearth, of
Blood and the dead;
But surely of mirth.
And then you look into the eyes
Of an ensign lying nearby;
Lifeless but still a lion's lair;
And from deep within those eyes,
A voice still cries-
'I did dare! '
