Lindsay Crosby

Rookie (Croydon)

Rocks - Poem by Lindsay Crosby

You will not move that rock
By thought alone
It has formation
It has a foundation
It is as heavy and then

The rocks are in the road
The rocks are what we build upon
The rocks come between us
Between us and the sun

You will break your back
If you try alone
It is not about determination
It is not about salvation
It is hard work and then

You will not clear a track
With one mans strength alone
Put down that instrument
Come balance with contentment
And then

The rocks come in code
The rocks care not whom they fall upon
The rocks come tumbling down
Between us and the sun
