{[sleep Till Noon]} 8.9.10 - Poem by Christina Burns

'The best feeling? ' They ask me

What is the best feeling I've ever felt?

When,

and why?

Driving to camp Dewan,

Jumping out of the car to find you,

You were up stairs

I heard your voice,

Then saw those beautiful eyes

And that wonderful smile.

I picked you up

I could've ran a mile.

You said I was gonna make you throw up

I put you down

It's been 6months,

No way I could frown.

You're growing up,

Becoming a young woman soon

But hey, then you'll start to enjoy sleeping till noon.

The miles between us,

Feel like the Earth to the moon.

I had to endure hell to get to you,

But I won't fuss,

At least it wasn't all on a bus.

Sorry to make jokes,

But when I get serious,

I choke

Not litterly of course,

Just become a little horse

A little teary eyed

And what not.

Then you look at me all weird

We laugh

What else is there to do?

We've been through so much,

but never once did we throw a punch

We took it all in

When both our cheeks were bruised

we had them aim at our chin.

And in the end

We always win.

You will always be my baby bird,

No matter if that sounds ubsurd

But by now,

I'm ready to let you do

doesn't matter if it's fast or slow.

You just need to slip away,

But always come my way

Every once in a while.

I love you,

You silly little child.

Always remember me

Okay?

Let them know how you feel

Never just walk away

I'm being for real

and I promise it will help.

This rambly poem should end soon.

But just one more thing before I go

I love you, just so you know.

More then anyone on this doomed earth

Be who you are,

It doesn't matter what's under your shirt.

Don't let anyone tell you you're not good enough

or that you should just be done.

Become something

A teacher

A preacher

A nun.

And don't finish until you know you're done.

Like this poem

I enjoyed my week with you

Just like old times

We'll be together again

and that's a promise.

I will work hard t make it happen

I will work till the end

And if you're not in my life even after that

Then I will work till my hairs have greyed, and I've become fat

I love you Brittany Dean

Even if you are a bit mean... ;)

I'm kidding of course

I'm beginning to feel a bit horse

So I must be going.

Be you

know what to do

And know,

I will always love you.
