Survival - Poem by (brief renderings) Joe Fazio

Some like a summer breeze, just float
through life. Others are destine to
constantly steel themselves against the
rage, misfortune and futility of their
existence.

Few of us can ever realistically enjoy
the fruits of their labor. We are consumed
by the rigorous demands of life. Living.

For many the serenity of mind we seek is
far to elusive to be discovered. We are
compelled for the sake of mere survival
to expend all most of our energy to
merely exist.
