Teardrop - Poem by Jessica Marshall

A single tear
Streaks from my eye
Like the lone wolf
From his pack.

A single tear
Glides across my skin
Like the ice dancer
Across a frozen pond.

A single tear
Stretches towards my ear
Like the newborn babe
Reaching for his mother.

A single tear
Holds so much pain
Like the vast ocean
That will never be dry.

A single tear
Breaks my heart
Like the crystal vase
Exploding against a wall.
