Tender And Gentle - Poem by Michael P. McParland

Sweet dear in a minute or two I'll close my eyes
to try and get some rest that I'm not sure will come,
I'll think of you though and your tender love,
that bright shining smile and glowing eyes
that were always so full of care
and showed the gentleness you had for me.
I'll think of you and ignore the persistent ache
just so I can focus in full on your
tender gentle soul and heart.
It's what will get me through this night.

Gentle tenderness is what I hold inside for you,
it fills me up in every way and I just want
to give you all of what I hold inside,
to show you the love you deserve
treating you like the precious Queen you are.
I just feel tender love throughout
my entire heart, body, mind, and very soul.
The gentle care I feel for you I can't describe
I just know it's there and I'm truly grateful that it is.
I'm so thankful for how our souls connect
on the deepest levels that we can't understand.
I'm thankful it is you I love and have in my life,
I wouldn't want anybody else.

So as I now finally prepare to close my eyes
and attempt to get some rest I'll let
the gentle tender love that we both share
fill me up and surround me in a blanket of pure peace.
I'll think of you and all your gorgeous traits
from both in and out and how I just want to hold you close,
I send sweet kisses your way my only love
and know sweet one I'm filled with only true and pure
gentle tender love for you.
My sweet Angel dove my heart is yours forevermore
in its infinite undying love it beats for you.
