The One - Poem by Wendy Lewis

The night that we met
I knew you were the one.
It was on that night
That my life had begun.

Our first kiss
Still etched in my mind
My soul mate at last
I did truly find.

Your sweet gentle love
Brought me to life
I knew in an instant
I'd be your wife.

You made me so happy
Your love fit like a glove
I knew without a doubt
Your my one true love

The years passed by
Life got so tough
We both shut down
That's when it got rough

Mistakes we both made
Tore us apart
Oh how I long
For a fresh new start

What happened to us
Was not meant to be
So lost without you
I can hardly see

The tears keep falling
How did we lose our way?
One more chance
Is all that I pray

The wrongs that we made
Can be undone
If only you could see
You're still the one
