The Perfect Stars - Poem by Daniel Beitzel
Laying next to you looking up,
watching the clouds pass under the stars.
They shine bright with mystery
a burst of beauty in a Dark and empty sky.
I do not want to look away
Standing up I look Away from the stars
and gaze into your mysterious eyes.
A star is simple beautiful white speck,
but your eyes are a picturesque burst of green and blue
Stars give direction to the aNcient navigators,
but oh how your eyes make me lost in thought…
joyful thoughts of wonder and ecstasy
Stars are distant, mAking me feel lost in the universe,
but your eyes, when near, is aptness
Your eyes… how they makE me lost but yet found
