The Soul Potter - Poem by Gregory Hughes
The Soul Potter
Loving Father up in Heaven,
In your hands I am your clay.
Take all the time you need,
Work with me another day.
Make me something that makes You smile,
All my time is Yours to spend.
Through me let shine your love and peace,
In this way I will live till the end.
I want to be something that brings You joy,
Let me help others to feel that joy too.
If this is what You want for me,
Then this is what I’ll be glad to do.
If You see fit and think I can,
I want to share Your love with all.
Just tell me what to say and do,
So through me Your voice will call.
You’ve formed me in Your image,
It gives me courage and makes me glad.
If You want me to, just say the word,
I’ll share the good news to those who are sad.
I have to tell them that in Your hands,
Your touch can make them new.
Just allow Your hands to touch them,
And leave all the rest up to You.
