Tools Of Destruction - Poem by Jeremy D. Grimes

No life or structure was spared
From the gyrate, glutton blade.
I was its ascendancy-
Its Hitler. Power to seize
And destroy all in my wake.

Demise at a Blitzkrieg pace;
Only the hasty survived.
The silent deaths of hundreds
Passed with each quick rotation.
No sacrifice was too much
For my superior lawn

But approaching skies rumbled
With bigger tanks and fierce arms.
No man, nor army would dare
Engage this predicted force
With its raging offices.

The dark above me began
To bomb upon my advance.
Defeated, I went inside.
The battle definitely lost,
But the war never ending.
