Touch The Sky - Poem by Michelle Freeman

Floating like a leaf in the air,
the wind is noisy I don't care,
the clouds are crazy blue.

He says to me are you the one,
that cracks the trees and hides the sun,
and I'm like yeah.

This world looks weird,
a cohesive sphere of tetrahedrons spinning everywhere,
oh wait! ! That's me.

Don't you worry,
if you get lost in this babble of verbal chaos,
it's supposed to happen.

You can't be down all the time
with so much colour verse and rhyme
and yet the rain falls.

He says to me are you the one,
flying like blackbird through the sun,
and I say...we all are.

This world looks strange
with bright pink panes of... is that a candy cane?
No it's not.

These panes are cracking really fast
and I'm afraid this trip won't last,
but who wants to get off.

Floating life a leaf in the air,
the wind is noisy but I don't care...
do you?

Fly, fly,
across the sky
Then run away

Die, die
when they tell you to die
Then come back

Fly, fly,
die, die
Run as fast as you can

Fly away
touch the sky
never come down again

    Hi Michele,

I think you have a lot of love and hope stored up in this write that sends it wildly spinning across the realms of imaginations from a wierd world, where the sand is silver and tree have purple bark and the moon is made out of parmesan! You are the atomic nucleus from which the heart of the poem expands from... borrowing energy to leap and irradiate the souls of the readers who are weaken by your flourishing thoughts and grasp at the sky... You take flight so easily here before you've even learnt o run and walk so to speak. So take us away Michelle.. to the sky and beyond.

A very expressive write from you, my fave stanza is actually the first one! It grabs you instantly as you read your poem! I'd have put 'Floating like a leaf in the air, the wind is noisy but I don't care, the clouds are crazy in the blue! ' but the way you have put it really put across the wild and free spirit youobviously have!

    Very good!

    Dale :)
