Eugene Lumanlan

Unfinished, Unedited, Freewritten.. - Poem by Eugene Lumanlan

the world is over me
loop holes find me from where i hide
i am inexistent as what my former lover says
i will still be
but how come they always find me?
they seep even through tiniest holes
what once was my friend turns out to be the enemy's weapon
the enemy is myself
my weaker self
i am vulnerable when i exist
i wandered and looked for a place to hide
where is the safest escape?
when i lock myself inside a room
the enemy is there wherever i am
i am my enemy
to defeat the enemy is to defeat myself
and to defeat myself is to lose a part of me
