Weapons Plague - Poem by Kelly Kurt

The CDC tracks epidemics
They know what damage is done
The statistics can be upsetting
And worry most everyone
But the sum of deaths and injuries
A figure that often stuns
Is not the consequence of disease
But the aftermath of guns

Topic(s) of this poem: guns, life

The sum of deaths through war and violence, often supersedes the casualties caused by war and violence! So rightly put! (Report) Reply

The worst thing is not the weapons themselves, but the humans who use these weapons and are 'used' as weapons.... Fighting for 'ideologies' while everyone is fighting for power... The world kinda sucks now... Thanks Kelly. This is a significant poem... (Report) Reply

Yes, it is the people who want, produce and use guns that cause the damage.

Very true, the misuse of weapons are leading to hell. Thanks for sharing this poem, Sir. (Report) Reply

Misuse seems oxymoronic. What positive, practical benefit do guns have? They are made to kill and then more are made to defend against being killed
