With My Heart - Poem by James Roy Shelby
I had a great time the other night,
And with you by my side it felt so right.
You made my heart pick up a beat,
And the ground I couldn’t touch with my feet.
But to see you fight with him over the phone,
There I was again left alone.
When I saw you wanting to cry,
I just wanted to die.
Cause I would do anything for that love,
The love he took and gave a shove.
He must not know you love him with all your heart,
For if he did, he wouldn’t have ripped apart.
He must be stupid and blind,
Cause I think he is out of his mind.
To see how you act and feel,
I know your love for him is real.
You talked of finding someone new,
One who wants you no matter what you do.
I have always been there for you,
In thick and thin, and what ever we have been through.
I don’t know if there will ever be you and I,
But I will always be your friend until I die.
I hope you find that one that helps your dreams come true,
No matter what happens between me and you.
You will have nothing to fear,
Because James Roy is your friend, and I will always be near.
I will end this poem on the next line,
I will Always Love You, even if your heart is never mine.
