Igwe Kalu

Xiii. Night

Night brooding, come upon my eye
Urge me into deep vision in the scented air;

Light, bridging moments, come upon my heart;
Shroud, upon insane resurrections 'n search.

Nigh time, to fulfill desires longed for
Or left before the blinding light of day.

    You take me directly to the sultry nights in hot climates when sleep is impossible and visions and anxieties take over the mind. The approaching dawnis beauifully and subtly brought on at the end. Excellent.

    Well, I did enjoy your R.E.M.ishly wonderful poem, like lucid reflections. I'd be 'pushing the envelope' were I to expand upon the philosophics of reality and life regression. I should guess that 'Night' is as deep as the reader may so wish to venture. Fine poem! ! ! Thanks!
