Xxix - Poem by Jacques Maurice

The vision is of poverty –
no money
to pay the people who let you live
even after they consent to give
ten extra days.

No it’s not very funny.
Poverty breeds weapons
and dangerous games,
with rules made by nature,
not to be bought.
