A Baby's View Of - Poem by yoonoos peerbocus

I came as tomorrow
Swaddled in unawareness
To your warm womb
Mother……
Without your choice
Or mine
Destined to up date
With time
Our human tree
But before love
Grew into flesh and words
What is unfinished creation-
A precipitation of blood
Became my transcendence.

Form: Blank Verse

In this poem too, you have handled a subject of depth marvelously. It is not very easy to write about creation, awareness and transcendence. You have done the job with exemplary brevity. (Report) Reply

What shall I say about this poem, dear poet friend? Very well perceived from the angle of the baby and described in the language of very telling verses. Precise and concise. Great! (Report) Reply

Short but powerful piece of art.

Regardless of the perspective from which abortion is viewed from, I believe it is to a large extent, unjustified.

Unlike Brian Johnston who cites biblical argument from the 'original sin' to debunk the innocence of the child, I believe that killing him/her alone denies it(the child or foetus) the opportunity to be born again and receive Christ. This can be summarised in other words as killing a sinner, definitely you will account for that act- that is if someday we shall all be judged. On the other hand, whether the child is innocent or not, once it has life, taking it is both illegal and violates his natural right as a human.

Using whatever means to convert a human to a 'precipitation of blood', is wrong and must be condemned. We may resort to it under uncontrollable circumstances, but our inability to avoid it, should not deceive us into accepting it as part of social norm or alternative plan whenever we face challenges with regards to child birth.

Yoonus has captured this well. Keep it up!
