A Sunny Afternoon With You - Poem by Michael P. McParland

It's a beautiful and sunny afternoon here
and how I would love to spend it with you.
To go to a lovely park to share a picnic
as under the shade of a tree we held each other
so very closely and tightly my dear,
just lying down and sitting on the most
comfortable blanket we own.
It's a beautiful sunny afternoon here
and I wish you would come so we could enjoy
every single one smiling within each others arms.

A sunny afternoon I just want to spend
with the love of my life in the beauty of the world.
To grill some burgers just for you,
they wouldn't be really fancy but I want
to share such a lovely time with you.
So feel me there with you saying I love you dear
as in spirit I pull you so closely in
so in some way we are able to share this gorgeous day,
a day I wish I were spending with gorgeous you.

So here on such a beautiful sunny afternoon
I'll be thinking of you and holding you in my arms,
please think of me too sending all of
your loving warmth as I send you mine.
God bless you my sweet love as well as us
to find our way back so very soon,
you are the only one I'll give myself to
and I just want to spend all of these days
with you having such fun in our shared love.
So feel all of my sweet kisses
and the sun that I send you to feel all of my love
because you are my sweet Angel dove
and the only one I stand by forevermore.
