Answered Prayers? - Poem by (brief renderings) Joe Fazio

Millions of people say their prayers
every day and ask the one that they
believe in, for some type request
to be granted.

I wonder, how many of their prayers
are answered? How can their Supreme Being
that they pray to, keep track of these
millions and millions of people begging
for their special request?

Hmmmmm, how may prayers get answered?
Why are some answered...and some not?

Hearing a request to save the life of a child,
how does one grant a request...and deny another?

I am relieved I'm not the one, to make such
burdensome decisions.

We can never, even if we live for a million years understand every thing about God and the way he operates. However, God allows us enough knowledge about him through the scriptures, to understand what pleases him and what does not, how to live a righteous life, and the rewards of living a righteous life. The bible says that God hates evil therefore, we know evil in the world doesn't come from God. True, there are a lot of human suffering that man causes. Why does God allow it? That's God's secret. My take- Only through suffering can some people come to God, Only through suffering, can God open our eyes to the need around us. He's calling on us to help. The suffering in Haiti? God has finally opened our eyes so we can help; not just in Haiti, but all over the world. I lived in Haiti for 2 years working as a teacher. Right in my backyard, God showed to me what I could do to help. To whom much is given, much is required. Thank God for Bill Gates and all the others who share their wealth to help others. What little we can do to help, we must help. While helping others we get the opportunity to tell them about the love of God. God gives each of us gifts to use to help others and to glorify him. Pray! Pray! God will answer you.

Very thought provoking poem. Here is my take-1. God does answer every pray because He's never too busy.2. He answers in 3 ways- yes, no, not yet. In his infinite wisdom He knows exactly how, when, why. When to answer: when the timing is right, how to answer: maybe not in the way we expect but what's best for us, and why: why he answers yes, no, or not yet. There are some things we ask for that would hurt us, it wouldn't be in our best interest for us- in that case God will give us something different. To some prayers God will give us immediately because we absolutely need it now and the timing is perfect. To some things, He will answer, not yet because he has to prepare our heart to receive that particular gift. For example, people might ask for a husband or wife and want them immediately, but God may have to prepare both people before they can meet. Maybe, you ask for a particular job and God will give it to you, but maybe he has to send you for training before you get the job. Be assured, whatever God calls you to do, he prepares you first for the task. God doesn't act on a whim. Everything is planned before hand. Sometimes, things takes years, sometimes, it takes minutes. He is God. He has the power to do it all, and he never gets tired. Hope this helps. (Report) Reply
