The blind, old man
Sits here, never to stand
Waits for her, waits for him
Waiting for, ever since when
They left him here,20 years ago today
They left him here across the bay
The blind old man, listens to all
Waiting for that one special call
Always smiles, always grins
Always sits, never sins
Through the day, through the night
Through the dark and through the light
I could not tell him, they left him here
I could not tell him, that his time is near
A steady tear rolls down his cheek
It shows that his heart is now weak
No more grins, no more smiles
As I wait and watch all the while
He lies his cane, slowly to the side
Then he slowly works his way inside
The blind, old man is gone
He died all alone, only one
came to see him while he died
That one person was I
He said I loved them so
I loved them though
They never showed
Love to me, care for me
Though He never got to see
He never got to see them
Not once, not even in the end
His heart was left broken, left for dead
His heart so weak slowly died and bled
They never cared for his dying soul
They never cared for this man of old
I sat there, I watched and cried
As their father laid there and slowly died
