Borås - Poem by Mikael Ejdemyr

ἦθος ἀνθρώπωι δαίμων.
Heraclitus
fragment 119

forget the place you are at
or become aware of it

Fastidious palates thundering liars sweethearts in the throng
a soft beauty turns around
the drunkenness subdued
& Singers slowly walk by

The sound of naked soles
the sound of naked souls

Others moved away from here
I moved into myself

I live here in the meaning of life
my slow fate a short story

I live in myself
wherever I am

Darkness over the history of the city over the population of the city
darkness over the cemeteries of the locality over disused military training grounds
darkness over run-down textile factory buildings

I'm not going out
I'm going in

from textile to text
Borås a poem that isn't finished

at the water a sculpture is inaugurated
representing a long poetic silence

Topic(s) of this poem: reflections
