Dolls

Like a dream, I remember
bits and pieces come and go.
Something sparks a burning inside,
flames of hatred start to grow.

Begins consuming all my ration,
hurt flys outward, knocks you down.
Up on your feet in an instant,
on your shelf, not on the ground.

There can be no winner,
there can be no end
when only one of us is real
and the other is pretend.

Hollow eyes that see right past me,
always searching, moving, gone.
Back to back, can't seem to face you,
I'm the one who must move on.

Your clothes are fading, limbs are tattered,
should I just thow you away?
On the outside you are perfect,
it's your soul that has decayed.

There can be no winner,
there can be no end,
when only one of us is real
and the other is pretend.
