I Wished... - Poem by T.. R..

I wished
and I had sought
I delved
and I looked
Yet you were
not there, hidden
And I couldn't
find you among
the living

I wished
and I had sought
and I got
That what I want
but it wasn't
what I had hoped
and I was left
empty handed

You left me here
without a prayer
And I wonder where
You hid behind
Because I sought
And I looked
And you were not there

Where did you go?
I have search
high and low
and you did not know
that I had been looking
for you right there
and I don't know why
but you are hidden

please let me see you
I don't know why I can't
I miss that face
that I looked at
and once knew
but you are not there
and I don't know why
but you are gone

what I would do to see you smile.
