Just A Rose

Rating: 5.0
Then came a note, with just a rose
With loving words written in prose

A lover's tiff that crossed the line
Just petty views not quite aligned
A lifelong bond was torn apart
And different paths they did depart
But absence long; brought much regret
And sorrow came with each sunset
The days were grey with love deprived
Two pining hearts, with much guilt rived

line 6: maybe start with " On" ? and line 7: delete the semicolon? Rive: a 'new word' for me! " verb past tense: rived LITERARY split or tear apart violently" favorite lines: " Will days be spent in love lost mourned? And loneliness, forever borne" to MyPoemList bri ;) p.s. just ONE rose? cheapskate! !

Amazing, Loke. This poem has a certain quality that takes me to Bobby Burns....that coupling of love and the rose, and the issues that might be reconciled by and through life. Great poem, Loke. A 10!

Not my favourite subject, and for sure it is not something that I know much about, took me some time to get it together. Glad you liked it'

It's a fascinating poem! I went through your reply to esteemed poetess Valsa George that you have have not done much work on love! What i find from this poem is that you you can do exceedingly well on this area! Your imagination seems magnificent! A lovely poem! beautiful ending! Loved reading it!

With age, imagination is just about the only thing that keeps me going on this site. Thanks Dr.

What a lovely poem, Loke! That too, on Love! To forget and to forgive are acts most noble. Love is love only if you can forgive and overlook all faults. And what better way than a reconciliation through a beautiful note and a red rose. A fascinating poem that deserves full praise..

But suddenly when one receives a note with words of love and a single rose.... what heaven it is! Definitely it will give them a new lease of life! You have beautifully presented the whole situation in a very realistic way without any drama but with overtones! Lovely poem! ! 0+++++

I have to confess that I wrote this poem just to fit the picture from the net, it was more imagination than anything else. Love is not my favourite subject, but your reaction and encouragement is tempting me to explore this subject further. Thanks Valsa.

Sometimes a sudden outburst of anger can break a relationship and the lovers go their separate ways! A crack caused in their relationship leave them utterly sad. Even when they desire in their heart of hearts to come to a compromise and keep pining for the lost love, their false sense of pride prevents them from coming near! (cont)

Most often, love lost means forever. Usually, one wanted out more than the other. Unimaginably thrilling to get a rose, a note, and a second chance.

Sometimes I wonder whether I know what I am writing, This poem started with me picking up the picture from the net and then deciding to make something out of it. Love is certainly a subject that I would prefer to avoid! Thanks Kelly.

It's just a rose Yet it says the most Will it align the words of forgiveness or will it hold everything in heart. Beautiful poem flowing gently. Loved reading it. Thanks for sharing.
