Midnight Monster - Poem by Brad Jacole Sieths

There’s something big and monstrous in here
You have every reason to start cowering in fear
Whatever it is, it definitely isn’t nice
It’s making my blood feel like ice

It’s making it’s way through my room
Which just may become my final tomb
I think I can hear its disgusting breathing
It makes me revert to a stage of teething

The bed in which I lay provides nothing
The monster gives a pure feeling of loathing
Not much anyone can do against something they can’t see
So there’s not much anyone’s going to get from me

Then my sheets begin to get pulled off
I see the monstrosity and I can’t help but scoff
‘Cause it’s my dog trying to get me to let it out
I don’t know what all that monster stuff was all about
