Missed - Poem by Gordon Jerome
I long for her touch
I long for her kiss
I long for that look
In her eyes that I miss
That comforting one
That says she cares
That one just for you
With the love she bares
I wish she were here
For me to hold tight
Too share my embrace
Thru the cold dark night
But that will never be
For I missed my chance
By letting someone else
Fill her card for the dance
Now I sit here and wonder
About what might have been
If I just would have chased her
Like I should have back then
But I gave her the space
To search every thought
Not knowing in my absence
There was another who sought
So now I live my life
Alone with my shame
For in my absence she chose another
And cast away my name.
“closing thought”
Fight for what you treasure never step aside
And never from another let your true feelings hide
