Northwest Conference - Poem by Ariel

She packed lightly -
crackers,
an empty notebook,
the ocean.
Could not fit in her soul,
decided it would survive at the kennel.

She felt the shifting of each elevation
with each rotation,
felt the lessening gravity release;
checked to see if the coral reef
was wearing it's set belt.
