October Drizzle - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Sullen skies weep with futility
Gelid droplets vainly attempt to revive
Dripping eaves reckon the volume with assonance
Cold, cold water
Emissary of life
Little but dampens this day

Same here. Enough said. Except I loved the line, 'Gelid droplets vainly attempt to revive, ' as I had a similar thought, while staring at my herb garden. Despite the rain, its just too cold for new leaves to propagage or for the dying plants to lift up. The sky is grey and barren. (Report) Reply

The angle of the sun and shortness of daylight cannot be compensated for by rain. I have few flowers left and my basil is dead too

Wow, what a coincidence yesterday I went to my farms in India and on my way, all of a sudden, thick dark clouds gathered within few minutes and with thunder and lightening, drizzle started, when I started from home around 12.30 pm it was bright sunny day with no precast weather for rains..... Nice poem, Sir..With global warming October has become unpredictable.......... Warm days, cold nights and in between rains anytime. (Report) Reply

The latitude where I live can have weather changes very abruptly. Soon I will be writing of polar winds and 30 below temperatures
