Ode To A Concrete Floor - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Poured in a slab, four inches thick
Troweled level and allowed to dry
Oh, concrete floor, when I fall on you
You bring a tear to my eye

On summer days you sweat with me
In humidity and heat
In frigid winter, like Jack Frost
You chill my stockinged feet

Oh, concrete floor, just yesterday
You broke my favorite mug
If I had some extra cash
I’d cover you with a rug

Yes.. Next time when I fall on the floor, I will say I was trying to give it a hi five with my face (really old joke this one from me) .. Thanks for the poem Kelly. It did bring a gentle smile on my face :) (Report) Reply

Hahaha loved the wit of this poem, thank you for sharing! Maybe the concrete floor will become kind to you from now on, but please be careful for no more falls, those may hurt anywhere we'd land. (Report) Reply

Yes, at my age any fall is bad.: -) Thank you, Elena, for your great reply
