Sound Of Peace - Poem by Fahima Mohideen
A sound that brings
Peace to the world,
And reminds us of our Lord in the dawn.
What else can it be but the ‘Azan’? !
Calling to pray,
& Calling to victory,
Calling to guide us thru’ our days and nights.
A pleasing call from our Creator,
waking us from our slumber,
to rush and worship The Pardoner,
Who would forgive our sins.
A sound of peace,
Moving trough the land,
With the angels coming to and fro,
At Fajr and at Asr
Taking news about us to The All-Knower.
A whisper of peace,
A call to every woman and man,
So that we can confess our sorrow and anxieties,
And He will guide us through our worries in our lives.
It is not a call from your friend,
Not a call from your mother,
But a call from your creator who gave you life and can take it away this second.
So don’t make Him wait, else it might be too late.
